You eat out at a Korean restaurant with your family. You are complete, the way you prefer it. You eat, get full. You are reminded that this is all you need right now - a complete, loving family. It is late. You drop your mom off at the hotel. Your father and brother decides to go to Conspiracy because Joey Ayala! You decide to just go along with it, even if you're tired and want nothing more than to get a bit of sleep before you get up at 3am.
You arrive and get a table. You listen to some songs - familiar, and always a treat to listen to. You go to the bathroom during the singer's beer break, and you bump into your favorite photographer and videographer. He informs you that another one of your favorite people is there as well. You semi-run to their table and excitedly call his name. He's happy to see you, and your glee is uncontainable. You hug and talk. You learn that you have a chance to get on the greenpeace boat for a tour, something which you have been trying to get into for the past few days. You revel in how serendepitious the whole thing is.
You go back to your table with your family. You listen to more songs. Past 12, one of your closest friend tries to call You, but you're low on battery. She texts you her greetings instead. You smile. Your brother greets you a happy birthday, and you drink with him. You see you dad writing happy birthday on some tissue paper. You pretend not to notice. Moments later, Joey Ayala announces a song request. He calls out your name, and greets you a happy birthday. You are overjoyed. He plays "Walang hanggang paalam".
You get a happy birthday text from across the room, from your favorite boss. You laugh inwardly. You say your thanks. The day is just starting and you are already so happy.
Afterwards, your dad drives you over to your best friends' to pick up a film roll. She greets and hugs you. You get home at 2:30 am. There is no more time for sleep, but you know it's going to be a great day.
You are lucky. You are damn lucky.
