Entries for August, 2013

Antagal ko nang hindi napapadpad dito. It's sad, I haven't been writing much. Or at all. Here I am trying to remedy that.

You eat out at a Korean restaurant with your family. You are complete, the way you prefer it. You eat, get full. You are reminded that this is all you need right now - a complete, loving family. It is late. You drop your mom off at the hotel. Your father and brother decides to go to Conspiracy because Joey Ayala! You decide to just go along with it, even if you're tired and want nothing more than to get a bit of sleep before you get up at 3am.

You arrive and get a table. You listen to some songs - familiar, and always a treat to listen to. You go to the bathroom during the singer's beer break, and you bump into your favorite photographer and videographer. He informs you that another one of your favorite people is there as well. You semi-run to their table and excitedly call his name. He's happy to see you, and your glee is uncontainable. You hug and talk. You learn that you have a chance to get on the greenpeace boat for a tour, something which you have been trying to get into for the past few days. You revel in how serendepitious the whole thing is.

You go back to your table with your family. You listen to more songs. Past 12, one of your closest friend tries to call You, but you're low on battery. She texts you her greetings instead. You smile. Your brother greets you a happy birthday, and you drink with him. You see you dad writing happy birthday on some tissue paper. You pretend not to notice. Moments later, Joey Ayala announces a song request. He calls out your name, and greets you a happy birthday. You are overjoyed. He plays "Walang hanggang paalam".

You get a happy birthday text from across the room, from your favorite boss. You laugh inwardly. You say your thanks. The day is just starting and you are already so happy.

Afterwards, your dad drives you over to your best friends' to pick up a film roll. She greets and hugs you. You get home at 2:30 am. There is no more time for sleep, but you know it's going to be a great day.

You are lucky. You are damn lucky.

Today was.. lazy. Ano ba ginagawa mo Bea ano ba!!! Browsed my feed and gasp! I facebooked. Even if Facebook Fridays lang dapat. Shet. I really hope makapasok yung entries hay.

It's raining hard today and nawala yung kuryente and my heart skipped because baka masira nanaman computers and mawala lahat ng files. Fortunately nothing like that happened, but shet, yung hard drive nagloloko. Ok naman siya nung pinlug ko kanina but then nung may ipapaste akong folder dun sa hard drive, nagloko siya, parang naplug-unplug and it kept asking if i want to format it. Hell no! Sana ok naman siya and usb port ng computer lang may sira, not the hard drive please not the drive. :|

Ok, on to the positives: Nag gym ako kanina. Kahit na shet super nakakatamad okay kasi anlakas ng ulan and I was seriously considering turning back, nung nasa Ateneo na ko because it was so cold and dark and lonely. :( HAHA buti nalang may trike. I really didn't want to walk through all that bleakness. Mabilis lang yung measurements kanina, I'm 30.5/26/35. Anliit talaga ng boobs ko :))) Ohwell papel. At di man lang ako makapagpush up ng matino tae i feel like a weakling.

Oh! I was good sister mode, helped kulas with his essay. So that's one. Aaaand.. hmmm... I cooked spaghetti? But it lacked sauce. So. Iono. Neutral. Basta, I cooked. That's minus one lazy. Another positive! Chatted with him pero antagal niya bago magreply so. Iono. Happy naman that I interacted with him :)

OH OH OH THE BIGGEST POSITIVE!! I AM GONNA SEE MARDS TOMORROW AS;JKA SFJKAS;DF~!! AFTER 1.5 YEARS!!! SHET SUPER EXCITED anlaki na siguro ng pinagbago niya at ako ... ganito parin. HAHAHA but whatevs looking forward to it!! :D

Today in news:

Sinkholes. Ok ano masasabi ko about sinkholes? That they're scary. And that they can be totally unpredictable. Can be human-induced. Happens kapag may void sa ground which everything around it drains.

BadAstronomy: Phil Plait is just totally awesome. Galing niya magsulat, nakakainspire. People, just follow him already! :)) Read about how long stars' lifespan are (billions of years). Can't believe na ngayon lang talaga naghit sakin how really, really, extremely long that is. Some even go up to trillions. Shet the time! Anyway mainly dinisprove niya yung usual saying na "Some stars you are seeing are actually dead." Stars have a fucking long lifespan and the stars you see are just thousands to tens of thousands lightyears away-just a short amount of time sa kanilang billions of years lifespan. So, it makes sense na marami paring stars na alive, and those that will die is just an exception. It is, however, true that you're looking at the past when you look at them (or at anything, really, because light needs to travel), and that's what really hit me about the universe una palang (nung nabasa ko yung Sophie's World): The amazement of gazing back at the past.

Meron din siyang sinulat about climate change and how staggering the melting of ice are, compared to years before 2000. Narealize ko tuloy shet wala naman akong ginagawa about this climate change. Recent projections say na magmemelt ang ice before 2100, even mga 30 years from now and WHOA ang bilis nun. @_@

May article din siya about a milky way picture taken by a person responsible for TWAN (The World at Night) and he goes around the world photographing the night sky in different, popular landscapes to make people appreciate the night sky better. I'd like to do that too. Pero sa Philippines muna hihi. Tagal ko nang plan yun actually. Haay kelangan talaga matupad ang aking PH80 travel! Nightsky and underwater photog shet. Makes me wet. HAHAHA

Reading the BadAstronomy blog at Slate lead me to other Slate articles: How humans can outdistance certain animals like horses - ibig sabihin human bodies are capable of long-distance running because apparently we have a very efficient heat dissipation system. Other animals need to stop and pant. And also malaki pala ang butts natin so that we can have more stability while walking with two legs. Never connected that before. Naisip ko tuloy oo nga no, yung mga flamingoes or chickens anlaki ng butts hahaha.

May article din about why the hell swimsuits are so expensive. Because kelangan daw geared sila for all kinds of activities - water, sun, sand etc and may certain seasons and stretchy ang fabric which is more costly. Before, makakabili ka ng pattern to make your own swimsuit. Might be fun though. Grabe yung conveniences natin today - what with technology and online shopping. And we take them for granted :))

May dalawa pa kong blogs na kelangan basahin hahah. Hanggang dito nalang muna :)
